Technical Requirements

LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer (m/f) fulfilling the task of

Spacecraft Operations EngineeringAOCS, TCS, EPS

in the Galileo Control Center for our customer GfR in Oberpfaffenhofen.


The objective of the Spacecraft Operations Engineer is the preparation, validation and execution of operations related to the AOCS, TCS and EPS subsystems.


The main tasks of the position will be:

·         Preparation of Flight Operations Procedures (FOP)

·         Writing of procedures

·         Adaptation of procedures to new databases and procedures delivered by industry

·         Definition of validation scenarios

·         FOP validation, testing and result reporting

·         Preparation of and participation in SCTs and simulations

·         Test and validation of operational items like CSIM, ASW, ODB, SCCF and MOIS

·         Participation in and provision of training (spacecraft subsystems, Ops tools, Ops concepts)

·         Anomaly reports handling (writing, action processing, support of review boards)

·         Operations support

·         Satellite monitoring and control for special OPS with main focus on AOCS and Satellite Maintenance

·         Execution of special and contingency operations during PF Commissioning, Manoeuvres, IOT and routine phase

·         Offline analysis of the subsystem performance

·         Contingency Flight Operations on Flying Satellites

·         Reporting (definition and set up of reports and trend analysis)

·         Data Base Tuning

·         Routine special OPS and satellite maintenance


Academic Requirements

A University degree in an engineering discipline is required.

Specific Requirements

Required qualifications and work experience:

·A Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or in an equivalent discipline

·Expert knowledge on AOCS subsystem is a must

·Experience with TCS and EPS would be an advantage

·Knowledge on  S/C operations

·Knowledge of the GALILEO project

·Experience with pre-launch activities and launch campaigns


Additional skills required:

  • System-minded and a team player
  • Very good social skills
  • Able to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
  • German language skills would be an asset
