Finance & Administration Manager (m/f)



LSE Space is looking for an experienced Finance & Administration Manager (m/f) in order to lead and support our Finance and Administration Business Unit.

LSE is organised into operational and project related business units. The Finance and Administration (F&A) Business Unit is responsible for the completion of all financial book keeping, accounting, recording and reporting related tasks. This position is to manage the F & A Business Unit and to ensure the smooth operation of inter-business unit operations. The position prepares information and reports for the Managing Directors (MD) and the owner or Mother Company.

Technical Requirements

Management of the F&A Business Unit on a day to day basis.

• Monitor company performance w.r.t Budget and provide reporting input to the MD(s).

• Monitor and management of overall Cash Flow company; including  subsidiaries

• Monitoring of commercial risks to the company

• Prepare the F&A business unit budget and support the other business units in preparing their budgets/forecasts. Preparation of overall company budgets/forecasts built on the individual business unit budgets as inputs to the mother company.

• Overall management of the production of the monthly reporting for LSE and some subsidiaries to the company MD(s) and to the mother company. Interface with the mother company on financial issues.

• Management of work related legal matters e.g. employment law, legal disputes related to financial or corporate issues

• Management of legal and accounting issues with respect to LSE interests and deployed staff and with respect to the interfaces to the subsidiaries – ensure conformance with income tax and corporation tax rules, ensure conformance with VAT rules, etc.

• Interface with the Company Lawyers and Accountants on policy matters.

• Interface with the Notary on Company Legal matters.

• Manage Audits and interface with Auditors on accounting and policy matters – e.g. Intra-company working Agreements 

• Manage Audits and interface with the German authorities on Betriebsprüfung, Lohnsteuerprüfung, Sozialsteuer, Mwst, etc.

• Preparation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, management of legal aspects w.r.t suppliers and subcontractors.  Monitoring of the budget and commercial aspects of subcontracts.

• Review of contracts with customers from a commercial and financial perspective, preparation/review of the commercial parts of proposals as necessary.

• Preparation of Owner/Board meetings and resolutions

Academic Requirements

Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration or equivalent


Specific Requirements

Required skills are:

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a financial administrative or financial management role.

• Very good understanding of up-to-date accounting and payroll processes and procedures, experience with DATEV and accounting according to HGB and IFRS practices.

• Very good understanding of German employment and corporate laws

• Experience as team leader, project manager or unit manager.

• Excellent German and English oral and written communication skills. Knowledge on another European language would be an asset.

• Proven ability to lead and manage mixed cultural and mixed gender team.

• Assertive, communicative and able to work in a team in a multinational environment.

• Experience with the culture of an international company.  

• Proactive, creative, confident, self-driven and inventive, able to deal with complex commercial problems

• Flexible with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of a growing company

• Excellent and proven interpersonal and soft skills

• Good communication, leadership and organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Experience in a service oriented business would be an asset.
